Christmas comes but once a year, a time for giving gifts, making merry and having good things to eat. Ever since I was a young girl, I’ve been cooking up things to make Christmas special and of all the things I prepare at this time of year, our absolute favourite has to be my Christmas cake.
A Christmas cake should bring a little bit of joy and delight into our lives. My mother always told me that a Christmas cake should reflect something that you do not have as it will help you to feel warm and cosy inside. Gullwick and I live in a beautiful place where there are very few trees and so I like to make my cake into the shape of a beautiful Christmas tree.
Have a Christmas full of warmth, wishes and wonder and I look forward to seeing you in the not too distant future, which will of course be a new year.
